Postgraduate Workshop
Career Trajectories1.00 - 4.30 pm Tuesday 8th July 2008 The Old Senate Room, UWA (map) This session is designed for postgraduate members of AWGSA to meet informally and to enjoy an excellent professional development opportunity. Building on the success of the last postgraduate session at the 2006 Melbourne conference, we are continuing our focus on transitions from postgraduate to postdoctoral status and have assembled a panel of experts ready to talk about critical career development steps. Speakers will be as follows: - Ingrid Richardson “Research grants/projects: how to become involved as a postgrad and ECR”
- Chilla Bulbeck “Where are the Mentors?: Who might help you in your career and what you can ask them to do”
- Wanning Sun: “Building a teaching and research profile: how to position yourself within a field”
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion.
Cost If you are an AWGSA member attending the National Conference, there is no extra charge for this session. There is a charge of $10 for non-conference attendees.
Registration Please register for this event for catering purposes.
